Meet Michael Gay, CPT

Michael earned a Bachelors degree from Stony Brook University and has since been completing pre-requisite requirements to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT). During this time Michael has continued work as a clinical assistant at a busy outpatient orthopedic PT clinic. This has consequently produced a proficient knowledge in various injuries and pathologies and the treatment interventions associated with acute and chronic care.
To further his education and training Michael earned his certification from National Federation of Personal Trainers (NFPT). Michael also holds continuing education certifications as a Functional Specialist and Flexibility Specialist from NFPT and as a USAW Olympic Lifting Level one certified coach. In addition, Michael has contributed to published NFPT continuing education curriculum and is in the process of developing additional counting education curricular to further the education of personal trainers globally. Michael wants to help in grassroots initiatives in the personal training industry helping his fellow trainer become strongly educated in order to successfully achieve the goals of the patient or client.
Michael has developed strength and conditioning programs for local high school athletes in football, hockey, baseball and softball. In addition, Michael has worked with many different clientele ranging from athletes in professional competition to those with joint replacements and the weekend warrior. His background in corrective exercises is paramount in initial treatment in order to progress his clients to more advanced movements and ultimately achieve goals.
In his off time Michael reads literature from books and journals related to his concentrations for research and personal growth. Michael also enjoys exercising, bicycle riding, hiking, golf and playing sports he has competed in such as baseball, football and hockey.
